Do you mean not to go too far back out?

Halfway is the peak halfway down the beach (:lol: !?!?)....pretty much the best peak on the beach & a magnet for the better surfers on the beach...........it's the one place in the beach that beginners won't get much love - better off 50m to either side on up or down.

Depending on your time and budget, hiring a guide isn't the worst idea.....they will take you where it is working and block off others so that you'll get waves....they can even go out on a boat to a reef that is suitable on a given day like Tora2 when it's working....the guides will know, take you to a spot where you'll have fun.....even paddle out with you and position you on the break. Either there or Kuta/Canggu beach breaks are your and your brother's best bets.

The sandy beach break and maxing crowd, not suitable at low tide there are some coral heads, there is a delta of sand where the stream comes out can give a great learning wave.
