Postby oneil_surfer » Thu Sep 15, 2005 4:39 pm

I just wanna let every one know that there is a great place to surf with plenty of waves for every one and there is not many people and even if tehre was there would be loads of room, every one here is nice and respectful so i think every one should know about it, its called Mitchell beach its in Santa Cruz, the waves are decent and you get good speed i mean its a beach........but it very good spots every where make sure to check it out.

The whole way up one from Santa Cruz to Ocean Beach is full of great spots. Just watch out for sharks.

I gotta agree. Huntington is my local break. It's very crowded all the time, and in summer with inland traffic, it's a zoo. True they have great surfers, but if you're not up to par, competing for waves in that crowd is more frustrating than fun. Especially, if the waves aren't that great to begin with. You can get the same identical beach break without the aggro rippers just by traveling a mile north from the HB pier.

Further south...

Postby San Diego Longboarder » Sat Nov 12, 2005 6:41 am

Try heading south to O'side Pier or Harbor, Swami's, Pipes, Cardiff Reef, Del Mar, Black's Shores, WindnSea, Tourmo, Sunset Cliffs.

If you can go north, skip L.A., since they messed with Balona Creek there isn't a decent break between Palos Verdes, El Porto and Malibu.

Pass Malibu to Hollywood by the Sea, California Street, Fairgrounds. Still further north to Rincon, Carpenteria, Santa Barbara, Montecito and the Holy Place, the Ranch.

See you in the lineup!
