South Africa

Postby Wilmafred » Mon Jan 22, 2018 6:03 am

Hey guys,

I'm heading to South Africa and I was wondering which board to take with me.

Generally, I have 2 surfboards.

Small waves board which is suited for the average Mediterranean waves and works awesome for up to chest high not too strong waves.

The other board is well suited for stronger and bigger waves, chest high and above. Though it's less fun surfing with it on smaller waves.

What so you think? Should I take them both?

There is a large variety of waves in South Africa. Obviously it depends where you are going to surf. There are certainly many, many spots where the bigger board will be useful.

Thanks for the help.

I'm going to Jeffreys Bay for few days and moving west towards Cape Town.

I thought most waves will be powerful chest + so the bigger one will be enough but now I guess both boards will be useful.

Honestly I would just take the bigger one. South Africa does not lack in swell.
