Surf Vacation September (beginner - intermediate)

Postby Tivy » Tue Aug 08, 2017 8:23 am

Hi guys!

I'm planning a vacation in september 2018 week 1. There is so much to do when it comes too surfing in Europe. So I hope you guys can tell me your experiences.

After some research they keep on talking about 2 nations: Spain and Portugal.

I would like to go on a trip for 10 days, I love a beautiful beach sight , nice sunsets, nature,...
Right now I'm surfing a 6.4, there's alot I need to learn still. But I remain a beginner to intermediate surfer.
I've been to france for the third time now, Moliets,Mimizan, Vieux boucaux. And 1 time in Zarautz Spain.

After a good day of surfing we also like to drink a fresh beer. A little party never killed nobody.

So that's what we are lookin for.

Here are some things I've looked up because they kept coming back:

Fuerte Ventura, Lanzarote in Spain.
Peniche, Ericiera, Algarve in Portugal

Every experience is welcome!

Thanks in advance

I've been to France but not surfed there. I've surfed in Peniche and they have party atmosphere during the summer. There are many bars and clubs and people are genuinely nice and friendly. We got invited to house party and there was weed everywhere. Beer is cheaper than water too.

There is a bus that runs from the airport to Peniche then you can hire a car there. Or just hire one at the airport. You need a car to get to surf spots unless you don't mind surfing at the same spot every day.

I went there in Oct, the swell started coming in and the waves was big.

Sept, I'm not so sure. I would guess that it is the same in most places where summer waves are small.

I've not been to Ericera, but I heard it is less developed and quiet. If you're looking for a bit of nightlife then I would say Peniche.
