advice-beginners best spots?

Postby mazzalee » Sat Aug 13, 2005 10:57 am

hi guys,

Here is the situation.. fell in love with surfing after a two week camp holiday in south of France at Biarritz..now all I want to do is really learn how to surf! I know it is gonna take allot of effort, but my mind it set. I've decided to dedicate 6 weeks (Dec/Jan) to surfing.

I have a limited budget, the most will probably spent on travelling, cause i don't need any luxiourous accomadation.

I've been looking around as to where would be the best spot to go. Till now I've been thinking of

- Costa Rica (seems however that it is over populated and getting very touristic and expensive

- Brazil

- Marokko (would it be safe as lone girl traveller?)

i'm sure that allot of you might be able to give me some good advice, at least to point me a good direction. Thanks!

Have you thought about coming to OZ? It is the capital of the surfing world and there are heaps of friendly breaks all along the east coast. And for the lone travelling female there is actually a travelling surf school that is ideal for backpackers. It follows the central coast from Sydney to Byron Bay. You might like to check it out

Go to Cabarete, Dominican Republic

Try Cabarete in the Dominican Republic. You have a really good wavesurfing beach there: Encuentro. For example in November they have the competition for the whole South-Middle America there. The waves are very good, especially in autumn and wintertime (so december-januari is perfect).
