moving to Noosa- surf and weather

Postby ussuss » Sat Apr 15, 2017 2:14 am

Hi there, hope you are doing great. I am about to move to Noosa and I was wondering if you could help me out with a couple of questions I have. How is the surf in Noosa in the winter? at the moment I am able to stand up on the board but I really want to improve and I was wondering if Noosa is a good place for it. I am planning on going beginning of May until end of July, is this a good time for beginners? are there any beginner beaches that are good to learn during the winter?
Also do you know how will the water temperature be? Will a 3/2mm be enough?
And lastly, :) I would love to find a job in hospitality there as well, do you think this will be possible during this time of the year? potentially a shared apartment?
Those were a lot of questions, but any information will be very much appreciated!! :) thanks so much in advance! cheers!

Ussuss , from where are you moving to Noosa? Wetsuits are not really needed, if you want to work in hospitality, have you the relevant qualifications for Queensland? (Yes folks there courses in Australia for this). If you are a foreign national, do you have a work visa?
Resort areas are targeted regularly for people working outside their visa specifications. Fines and deportation can apply.
Australian winter is the prime time for tourists from the southern states to migrate north. Noosa is one prime spot where they in droves!
You are about 40 years too late for cheap shared apartments.

Now the important part , great learning waves all mainly right handed and if the surf is good the main breaks are frequented by good surfers and the inside with the learners ( lots of them).
Why did you want to go to Noosa again??
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
