Surfing Keel, Mayo?

Im looking to go surfing this weekend up in Keel (pretty sure its Mayo..) and was wondering does anyone know anything about it as a surf spot? Im looking for a beginner to intermediate spec spot where preferably i could pitch a tent near by without pissing anyone off? Any info on the surf or camping of this spot would be much appreciated. It would be really good to mention the country you are in as it is an international forum! But hey worked it out Keel beach in county Mayo Ireland.
Mayo in Australia would be mayonnaise, anyway , looks like there are spaces for motor homes and caravans at the beach, there is nothing to indicate tents are welcome or not, as for surf maybe if the leprechauns are on your side. as it has a swell window to the south.
Please be sure of your swimming and surf safety skills as it is likely that you would be one of the few in the water
I could be wrong there , because there is a surf school and some surf based kayak tours.
As for pitching your tent in a farmer's paddock, hmmmmmmm.
