Basque County or Marocco

Hello,

I am new here and new surfer but would appreciate your opinions.
I am lucky to be an exchange student in Bilbao and started surfing lately. I have mate who just spent a year in Australia, mostly surfing. He is planning to come and visit be early December for 10 days.

I've already tried the beaches near Bilbao and been to Biarritz too. Our plan is to either go from Bilbao all the way to Hossegor / Biarritz or the second option is to go south of Spain and take a ferry to Marocco. Which one you would prefer early December?

Would Marocco offer more to us with its "surfing life"? I know that there is many people surfing still during the winter in Bilbao and Biarritz, but nightlife and other things are a bit quiet and of course we get the rain. Marocco would be sunny and warm and I feel like it might offer more exotic experience.

Of course, as usual we have to consider this money wise too. Is here people who have done the Basque Country beaches? Renting a car is must, where did you stay? And same in Morocco, where and how you stayed and which are the best places to go? I would assume that renting car, even a van in Morocco could be cheaper than here in Spain?
