November in the Canaries!

Postby stefano » Sun Sep 07, 2014 2:00 pm

hi all!
myself and a few friends are planning a surf trip in the Canary Islands towards the end of November, and I could really use some advice on where to go..

key facts:
period: last week of november
ability: we're certainly not pros.. we can catch green waves confidently enough, provided that they're not extremely powerful/tall..

so you see my dilemma lies in deciding which place would provide good conditions without being too hard for people who are still learining the game!
We're trying to decide between Fuerteventura (north coast - around Corralejo), Fuerteventura (SW coast - la Pared), or Lanzarote (Caleta de Famara). Does anybody have experience of those places in Nov-Dec and can tell me which one could be most suited for, let's say, intermediate surfers? Or do you know any good reliable website with historical data on waves year by year?
I'd hate to go there and have to stay on the beach beacuse of the strength of the swell!

Any adivce would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Stefano

Hi,

I have been to Fuertteventura in may and going there again middle November!

Spots map:

I suggest you to stay in Corralejo or Lahares .
First one is on the seaside and more places to hang out, and last one is logistically located better in the middle of all spots around. You'll need a car there anyway.

I am a beginner, and there are spots for noobs like me as well as for profs.

I expect good conditions for all surfers on el cotillo beaches.
