Anyone been to it? It sounds really dangerous but maybe they are just over exaggerating?

Can't find a shop to rent so I don't think I can go anyway.

I'm going to blow a lot of secret spots not by name but by telling you where to look. But first a little about the Eisbach, yes it is dangerous less than surfing on a heavy slab reef. There is some precious localism, a big so what to ocean surfers, but there anyway.

Now the good news which you may not have read in your spouse thread.
THIS IS THE SECRET! Sssssh!
There are river waves in Switzerland, Austria, Poland as well as others in Germany.
How do I know? My son is a kneeboarder living in Austria, he needs his surf fix fixed, and it can be easily and there is no magic seaweed or onshore /offshore conditions only consideration of river flow.
Then you could also consider the tidal bores of England and France riding inland for miles at a time! :woot:

haha I see, it's just she will be at conference so I get a lot of time for myself on these work trips. I will definitely look into river surfing. I did check the tidal bores but it only seems to occur once a month!

Hi!

I can tell you that I have been there twice, and the first time I saw it, I was more than surprised. I haven't gotten into the river myself, so I can't tell you what it was like :P
I actually don't know if it's easier or harder than sea/ocean surfing, but I can definitely tell that it looks like a lot of fun. Some pics I took:

I must say that the guys really know their timing. I didn't notice any cutting in front and it all seemed like a nice afternoon of surfing in a city :D
