Big waves in Costa Rica?

Postby Jon Bon Vaage » Sun Sep 09, 2012 10:42 pm

Goin down for my first time. I'm gonna be there all this fall. Is my pinned out 7'2" gonna be necessary during my couple month stay? Or should I just leave it home. I just dont know what my chances are of hitting a massive swell.

Costa Rica is known for consistent surf year-round, not big waves (granted, this depends on your definition of big). I'd just bring down your standard short board.

Big waves are consider difficult for surfing, it give tough time to the surfer. Very few people can handle and face big waves and perform well.
