If you are looking for all year round warm weather, pure nature, great wave, perfect pipe, top healthy food, easy going night life and friendly locals – Dominical in Costa Rica has it all. And more.

That is why we keep coming back to this amazing spot (we surfed Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka before) and we will be happy to help you with more information on surf spots, natural attractions, hotel recommendations near by..

About Dominical:

Idyllic village Dominical lies by the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by tropical jungle, waterfalls and natural hot springs. Sandy beach is the entrance to the world class waves, famous among top surfers all around the world. In village it is taken good care of safety, as they have their own police station and lifeguards on beach, which is not significant for other surf location around the country.
Unlike many of Costa Rica's coastal locations Dominical is not highly developed, so you won’t find fast food restaurants or shopping centers there. The unspoiled village has plenty of bars, good restaurants and many options to have a good time. You can go for an adventure above the jungle on the zip line, take a relaxing swim in a crystal clear water under the nearby waterfall, or have a romantic dinner in a restaurant on a secret spot with amazing sunsets.

PLAYA DOMINICAL
Dominical has the privilege of a paradise surrounded by a fascinating nature. Here you will find everything you could wish from a perfect surf location. The ocean is warm all year around, so you can forget neoprene at home and run into the waves without any concerns. At the same time you won't meet any dangerous or poison animals during surfing and you won't scratch your knees at the coral reef. The bottom is sandy.
It is possible to surf at different beaches depending on your level of surf knowledge. Here you have beach with perfect conditions for beginners, beach for intermediate and advanced surfers and beach for professionals.
In Dominical area you can surf on spots with Beach Break (waves break on the sandy seabed) and Point Break (wave breaks into a rocky point).

Playa Hermosa
Like the name itself is telling us this beach is simply beautiful. Here you will not be crowded with tourists and you will not have to fight for the waves with numerous of other surfers. The beach is appropriate for beginners and intermediates. There are left and right breaks and a sandy bottom.
After surf session you will wish to have a picnic there with a beer and sea food specialty Chevice, with clear thoughts, great ocean view and a good company.

This bay, located only 5 minutes driving from village Dominical, is perfect for beginners due to weak current and baby waves.
At the same time this beach is also appropriate for intermediate and advanced surfers to work on their technique and progressing on smaller board.

Playa Dominical
Dominical beach is known for world class »monster« waves that are consistent all year around.
