Mexico in March/April for surfing

Postby Makka » Sat Dec 17, 2011 6:00 pm

So to be perfectly frank, I'm already over winter and the consistent onshore filth that we seem to be getting! (U.K)

Looking @ heading to Mexico for 4-5 weeks in March/April, Puerto Escondido will more than likely be my 1st stop. The pictures seem to suggest it gets pretty wild, but correct me if I'm wrong - the mo-hassive surf is more of an occurrence in June/July & it's a peaky beach break that gets pretty consistent 3-4-5ft swells around those months?

Do you guys recommend any other spots on the Pacific Coast, fun beach breaks or friendly point/reef breaks welcome.

I should note that I'm a beginner/intermediate, recently made the transition to a 6.2 quad fish.

Worth heading Acapulco way or am i better of staying south?

Also just been reading another post about Mexico surf trips & how a few members suggest somewhere else ... If your referring to the drug issues, I'm pretty sure that's all in the north of the country & certainly not something which is effecting the coastal towns, please correct me if I'm wrong!
