surfing around the Recife Area

Hey Danal,
I see the post is very old and I don`t know if you already have been in Recife, but to you and all people that are thinking of going to surf there.. YOU BETTER DON`T DO THAT. Brazil is a place where you can find a lot of beautiful places to surf, depending on the area where you are, but Recife is famous in the whole Brasil with its sharks. Even when you ask some brasilian people about surfing in Brazil and sharks there, the first thing they say is " Recife". Because or reefs there ( Recife is the portugues word for reef) and other factors, there are a lot of sharks right there and the attacks by sharks are not very rare there... it is beautiful there, yes, but sharks arent something that you don`t have to thing about, when heading to a surf trip. ))
