I am also a longboarder heading to Harris and Lewis too, looking for beachbreaks and mellow points

There is a website i found www.hebrideansurf.co.uk which is good.

I have found accom quite difficult too (I am honeymooning in May) think that we have got a cottage.

Keep in touch

Heading to Hebrides in May for camping and surfing adventure.

I went about 3 years ago and it was unbelievable. If you get the weather it can't be beaten. The swell charts were showing millpond flat and nearly every break I looked at was like a mirror. So headed up to Eoropaidh near the Butt of Lewis and was greeted by glassy, 3-4 ft peelers. It was like that for the whole week.

There is lots of accom, from bunk houses to cottages. Camping is sweet too, so long as it isn't fenced nobody seems to mind. There are a couple of proper sites with portaloos and water that are completely free.

This is the last remaining unspoiled area of the UK with such a variety of surf spots. Lets hope it stays that way!!
