lombok in feb???

Postby fatbob » Fri Jan 14, 2011 11:44 pm

headed over to bali begining of february, and considering taking the ferry over to lombok for some chilled out waves.. from what i have read conditions arent ideal this time of year but was wondering if anyone had any experience over there late jan- feb and what kind of waves they encountered. Im thinking dessert point is a right of but what about the south coast waves of Kuta etc??? :?: :?: :?:

Hi ya Fat Bob, the season is all wrong for desert point, Bali runs the Sanur side as rights and offshore in Jan/Feb, it's also the rainy season.
Desert Point is directly on shore but like all surf spots there are days of exception. You might get some surf further towards Grupuk and Ekas some of the guys in Kuta Lombok might knowRisk of not finding quality surf moderate to high but if you do find good surf you will have it uncrowded. Early mornings could be be good before the winds at any of the spots.
IMO worth the effort. Let us know how you go cause it's soon.

Even in rainy seasons, surf can be really cool, at least in Bali.
Pic from Kuta beach yesterday.
