Philippines in December/January

Postby NMonk » Wed Oct 27, 2010 11:08 am

Hi,

Me and my girlfriend are heading to the Philippines for 1 month in Dec/Jan. I'm an intermediate surfer but she has never surfed before, I am hoping to teach her. What spots would you recommend for a consistent easy riding wave for her, but also something a bit more challenging for me?

Also will it be possible to buy ourselves or rent boards and other surf equipment there?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

San Juan, La union has both a beach break and reef beside each other. when the reef breaks, it is pretty good. the beach break beside that is perfect for beginners as well as intermediate surfers wn very good days. it also is one of the most accessible surf spots from Manila.

Camarines Sur or popularly known as CamSur and Siargao are the top picks for surfing here in the Philippines. The waves there are great for newbies and professionals. If you will be using the surfboards and gears for a long time, it would be better if you buy your own. The charge for equipments are on a per hour basis, so try to weigh things out. :D
