Postby annimafa » Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:38 am

Hi guys, I would like to go to Morocco surfing in December! What a hotel do you recommend to me ? Does anyone have a trip in that country?
It will be my first time surfing, and i want to enjoy a good time, and services!
Thanks.

http://www.surfmaroc.co.uk/index.php

We went in feb this year had a great time, staff were all great and the instructors and guides couldnt of been better, there was a mix of different skill levels on the trip so they bring the groups to different locations suitable to skill level, morocco is a really cool spot and this company seem to be the best in the area, do it! cant recommend enough,.well be back!!

annimafa, ill let you know where i end up staying and surfing and try and give you all the info i can about my trip and how it goes.

check out www.surfboardscannotfly.com to make sure what is the policy of the airline you gonna travel with.
Then in Morocco, you can use www.rentasurfboard.com to get a decent surfboard, as I was travelling with BA (means no board)I used them in Bali, it's pretty efficient.

Lucky you man, enjoy, cant wait to get back too,. I didnt bring a board but most did, we travelled from dublin with aer lingus, a few people brought boards on our flight, was chatting to one guy and he brought a fish and a shortboard and I think he said it cost him around 30 euro extra,.we stayed with surf maroc in the taghazout villa, they had some boards there that you could use, heaps of minimals and few long boards and a few shortboards I think, and there was around 2 or 3 surfshops within a couple of minutes walk that did rentals too so you wouldnt be stuck but we were only really looking at minimals so not sure what the selection would be like if you were looking for something a bit more particular,..if you go to the surf-maroc website you can e-mail them any questions, they were quick getting back to us and very quick and helpful with advice,.hope u get out there anyway, good luck.

thanks for the help bb,
we are still trying to sort out the finer details but looks most likely that we will rent an apartment from surf berber or one of the other surf schools close to one of the breaks like anchor point or hash point, lots of sites doing weekly rentals from £250 - £350 close to the surf including surf maroc and cheap flights with comapnies like easy jet and ryan air (about £20 to take own board)

have had a look at global surf rentals and a few of the surf schools rentals but at over £100 for a weeks rentals on average i would rather take my own board....also hate getting use to a new stick the first session.
