Mentawai surf trip in May/June

Hey guys,

A few mates and I are planning a trip to the Mentawai in end of May. I'm an average surfer and never surfed reef break before(mostly beach brakes). Is there a place to go where the surf is not too challenging? Is it better to go on a charter boat or stay in a resort and do day trips? Also if you have any names of good places/charter boats/resorts that'd be awesome..

did mentawis down south with indies trader4 in may june. Going to Kandui tomorrow tips
Charters will take you to uncrowded waves maybe if a good captain and its not a cheapy (you have paid enough for the fuel to go the distance).
The waves range from good think woolamia at its best to AAA. You'll find what you want if the crew is told exactly what you want.
land based there is heaps and you can browse the waves they offer will be back in 2 weeks so will post info if you want. Remember you generally get what you pay for and you never get what you want unless you ask or if you have paid demand/tell
