Weird Question...where can I keep my keys??

Postby IDynamite » Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:40 am

Hey so I'm moving to Rincon Puerto Rico for a few months this winter and I'm STOKED. One thing I'm not sure about right now though is where I'll keep my car keys when I'm at a break I have to drive to. I would normally hide them somewhere in my car but there are a lot of thefts at the breaks. People watch for surfers to stash their keys...you know the rest. Have any of you guys had to deal with this? A friend of mine surfs with his keys in his pocket, hoping they don't fall out. Gotz any suggestions for me?

Thanks!

dude...wouldnt advertise where to stash keys online seeing as anyone can veiw these pages. see if you can get a manual non-electronic key cut for your car if u dont have one already and either stash it in the leash key pocket or in your board shorts if they have a zip.

+1. That's what i do. If i have to take my entire bunch with me, then i just keep the main key in my suit (most suits have a little pocket/string by the neck) and the rest of the keys somewhere in the car.

Haha well I'm not too worried about PRicans getting tipped off from this website, but good looking out. Yeah, I was thinking about those suggestions, thanks guys! I'll probably just end up stashing them in my board shorts. The key will be non-electronic so that should be gnar.

You can get waterproof containers to put round your neck for under a wettie/rashie.

My car only has a metal key and I use a little pocket in my wettie to store it.

I bought a safe with a electronic key pad. It has been bolted to the car inside the boot. here I keep valuables, even my small computer fits inside.

If your car has a start barring devise, then your key has a chip inside. If wet, you can still open the door, but when you start the car it wil stop again after a few seconds.

A dry spare key in the safe will take you home.
