Fuerteventura

Postby T4duude » Sat Oct 17, 2009 4:27 pm

I am looking at going to fuerteventura in december and wated to know what are the best resorts to stay for surfing. I doubt i'll hire a car out there so does anyone recomend a resort close enough to a good beach break and where i could easily hire a board for the week as i am reluctent to bring mine with me as i don't wanna get it damaged in transit.
So if anyone has any previous experience's of Fuerteventura or any do's and don'ts that'd be great.

cheers

I stayed in Corralejo which is a very commercial tourist centre with no surf on its beaches. But a short car drive down the coastal road takes you to a nice beach break which also has an amazing point break that al the locals go to. You'll need to hire a car though, which is cheap out there.

If you're only looking for a good beach break the best one is at Cortello, which is a very quiet tourist spot.

Lots of hire shops for boards everywhere.

Enjoy.

ok all booked for the 30th dec staying in correlajo and can't wait. I just wondered how much a 4x4 will cost to hire for a week to get around the north track?. Do they ask for a credit card or can i use my debit card? I heard most car rental places ask for credit card only?? I only have a debit.

I can't remember who we used for car hire but it was cheap enough and we collected the car at the airport.

Try doing a web search for the cheapest deal.

Good luck and a car will make alll the difference.
