Portugal in September - Surf & Family

Hello to all forum users

I am a new member and this is my first post here, so any tips would be most welcome.

I am an experienced surfer travelling from Ireland to Portugal this September, planning to stay in Ericeira. The only thing I have booked are flights (Lisbon) so everything else is a moveable feast.

I will be travelling with my wife and (then) 9 month old daughter.

I am looking for some recommendations for good spots that will suit us all ie. a nice beach for my wife with decent waves for me. Not looking for anything epic, medium size waves would be just fine (I've been a longboarder for years). Basically I don't want to have to dump the wife and child the whole time while I go off surfing!

We will have a car so day trips are always an option. We have 2 weeks so might consider 1 week in Ericeira and another around Peniche.

Any suggestinos would be most welcome!
