Costa Rica Weather!?!?

Postby BCspicoli » Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:37 am

Hey guys,

I know it's rain season, but I'm heading to Costa Rica for the next 6 weeks, backpacking and surfing as much as possible. The forecast looks very, very, very grim for when I arrive. When it forecasts rain and such, I hear it only rains hard for an hour or two a day then passes. Is this true? I hope so since I'll be sleeping in a hammock with a tarp half of the time.

Let me know ASAP,

Thanks for any advice!!!

Seriously, its the tropics, when it rains it'll be incredibly heavy. personally the best bet is to just take all your clothes off and stick em in a waterproof bag and find shelter, like a palm tree or something. The easy thing is to just go round in your swimming kit with a bag. If it starts go for a swim or something or even a surf, which is amazing in a rainstorm especially when there is no wind. Expect everything to be continuously soaking wet, keeping things dry is very difficult.

Personally Id take something to keep the mossies off especially camping outside. It might just be me but I really hate mossies.
