ok here where I live the biggest waves are 10 feet and not more and these only come like ten days a year max. usually the waves are very small, 1; 2; 3; feet maybe. i was thinking of trying longboarding. i´m in to windsurfing and skimboarding and all that kind of stuff for a few years now but wave riding seems fun also. so i´m asking which board is good for smaller waves. also the waves are very close to each other not like in the ocean. I´m like 60kilos or so.

If your starting out get a mini mal 7"2 to 8"2 they are good because they are easy to handle. But if you know what your doing you might as well get a long board if thats what you want to do.

I've heard a v-tailed fish shape with a low rocker is good for smaller waves because it allows you to pick up more speed.

it really depends on what you want to do i guess..

Where I am the waves seldom get above waist high, I usualy surf with a 7'6 funboard with no problems but i also use a 7'2 if i wanna have a bit more fun.
Personally i would go for a bigger board for smaller waves.
