Surfing Waves

hi ive been goin down cornwall fror a while i live miles away from any surf so havnt really needed to buy a board i just rent obne out for awkk or two in summer. now ive got alot better and find the boards im renting out arnt that good most all those crappy faom boards i want to have a bit more of a challange and carve into the wave more. so ive decide to buy a board the thing is im not sure which one to get im 6,3ft im in to snow boarding and skating u know teh size of teh waves around the uk i dont want somthing too small ive tried one out and fopund them too hard to paddle in and stand up, nothing too big like a long board so im stuck between a mal and a mini mal, then a shart board a fish or somthing. does ne one have ne ideas?

wassup, and welscome to Surfing Waves Forum. You seem to have gone mental posting in the last couple of days.....

For advice on the surfboard just read all the posts in this topic,...Surf Patrol has given out loads of advice on boards and a lot of it will apply to you!!

I would go with a mini-mal, mainly cos they are a board which allows beginners to progress to intermediates, so you don't have to keep buying new boards!!!

Surf Patrol would say get as big a board [and fat board] as possIBLE!!! [ha within reason]. Mate you are quite tall so a board around the 7' 9" sort of area might be suitable. Waves in england are generally suited to bigger boards anyway, especially all the mush around....

yeah cheers for the advice, its just that i type to fast for my mind and it type of .. well goes wrong. im pritty new to surfing but have picked it up really fast, with a mini mal will i get to carve into the wave and stuff?

Yeah i see no reason why you can't go carving the roast dinner, i mean waves!!!

I wouldn't get a shortboard as a benginner nywayz [unless ur a midget] as that's only gonna hinder your progress.

ive had a look around and mini mal looks liek the best option umm just wondering does the hight matter too much cuase ive beenon some other forums and theers a few good deals but the hights off a fewinches i mean im not that heavy but quite tall medium build. thanx for advice. btw dunc do go much down cornwall, if so u know ne decent surf spots which arnt too crowded.
