Shortboard confusion

Guys, just a quick question.
Have been riding a long board for three years, can go left and right and glide down the line no probs.
I am looking for a bit more adventure and thinking of coming down to a short board.
There is one for sale in my area, dimensions are 7'0" x 20 & 1/2" x 2 & 3/4". It's called a "big Boy".
Since I am 6'1", weighing 13/14 stone I am confused what I should go for.
I am also wondering is that above board a gun made for bigger waves.
All comments/opnions much appreciated.

That sounds like a big shortboard or a funboard (need to see the shape to be sure). Its not a gun as its too wide. It should be a good first shortboard for a big guy.

Yup, thats a big shortboard/funboard and has stacks of volume so should be fine for a reasonably experienced, reasonably heavy person! :D

Should be fine in small and big-ish waves 8)

I'm 6'1", 180 lbs and shortboard-wise, always road 6'4" through 6'8"'s.

I like swallowtails, but have a pintail. In the end, though it comes down to width and rail.

looks good for your size, cant really tell from the photo but it looks like its got plenty of volume in the nose which will help you with paddling and getting into waves as you get used to the shorter length.
