Hey, so im going on a surfing trip to Hossegor France and before I go I wanted to buy a new surfboard. Ive been surfing on this kind of mini malibu for a couple years now back home in Egypt. I am able to catch waves and stand on the board but the waves are very mushy, weak, and break instantly, so I havent been able to really progress and follow the wave left or right. Im looking for a board that could hopefully help me do that. I was thinking of 6'1 FISH 42.7L. For reference I am about 180cm and about 75kg. what do you think?

Going to a smaller board will make everything more difficult, so if you haven't progressed on your current board I wouldn't recommend moving the goalposts by getting a smaller one.

1) Are you going with friends on your surf trip ? If so, what size boards are they bringing.
2) What size board including travel case does the airline allow ?
3) Fishes are not good for going straight. You have to be able to roll from inside rail to flat bottom to outside rail and back repeatedly.

no ill be going alone on this trip. the airline allows baggage up to 300cm in length plus an added fee of course. there was this other board i was looking at, it is a midlength hybrid surfboard either 6,4 and 40L or 7' feet and 49L would that be better for me ?
