Hello,
I am a new surfer. Female 6'0" about 210lbs and based on internet reccommendation bought an Olaian 500 8'6" longboard foamy with epoxy bottom and 3 fins. The board just came in and looks huge! I am wondering if I made a mistake and should have gone with the 7'8". The volume on this is 96L and its about 23in wide. Thanks for the help!

Welcome and hi, the board you‘ve chosen is is pretty much right for your height and weight at a beginner‘s level.
Soft OK the smaller would not give ease of wave catching, you will need to learn how to get out the back easily by observing your beach as duckdiving will not be an option , turtle roll yes
Have fun :D

1) What size board did you do your first surf lessons on ?

2) You title says "Newsurfer". How new ? Can you just stand up and go straight ? Can you turn and trim along the face of the wave ?

3) I always say by a board 3 feet over your head when first starting to learn the basic. 7'8" would have been too small.
