Surfing Waves

Hello, after some advice. Just started surfing again after 25 years.......... been out a few times now on a 8'4 foamie and not quite like riding a bike but I'm back up and starting to get on them. I have the offer of a very well priced 7'4 mini mal - however I'm 5"11 and 95kg and have a good general fitness, will this size be ok or do I need to go bigger or shed more pounds???

I think you would be fine on the 7.4 mini mal. For perspective, i was out of it for about 15-20yrs and relearned on a 6'10" x22 x3 egg. I'm 6' and was around 215lbs at the time. Surfing helped me drop another 30lbs and I was back on shortboards between 35-40 liters a year later.

btw, if you know the seller relatively well, maybe they would let you borrow the board for a few waves if you surf the same area. Or a shop that would do a loaner board. Might be worth a try if you're still on the fence about it.

What size was you "Go-To" board 25 years ago ?
