foamie for cross stepping

Hey guys,

I have a dilemma. My basement has a maximum length of 8'4. Therefore buying a longboard isnt an option. I would love to learn to cross step more but I'm mainly looking for a surfboard for smaller days. The waves can also be really choppy where I surf, so a typical noserider shape wouldnt work that well I think. What surfboard would you guys recommend? I've been looking at those catch surf foamboards as well and they look like so much fun. I usually surf a 6'2 egg but sometimes its still difficult to catch waves when its really small haha.

investigate the diagonal to corners standard practice longboards in smaller spaces
Long boards are options for smaller days too! Soft and long will go well particularly if you get one of the better ones, hard look at torque or a few others.
Talk a little more before you buy, if buying secondhand post pictures, before you lay out money!

A Catch Surf 8'0" "Plank" with a Single Fin box would be recommended over the Rubber Tri-fin model.

Sorry for the bump but I'm still in doubt between the 7'0 plank or 8'0. 7’0” x 22.0” x 3.125” (72 Liters) already sounds like alot to me. 8’0” x 23.0” x 3.375” (86 Liters) sounds like a bit too much. Would love to hear your advise. My weight is 141 lbs.

I don't look at Liters. If you want to learn to cross step but have space limitations, go with the longest board that will fit.

Thanks for your advice! I bought the 7' plank in August (shouldve gotten the 8' but it was sold out unfortunately). Awesome board so far. Does surprisingly well in bigger conditions. Havent had a nosedive yet! Still im struggling with longboard manouvers. I checked my basement and I think I can fit a 8'6. I also have some extra money to spare haha, so i thought, why not a better board. I saw the catch surf heritage 8'6 noserider and I think I fell in love. Would you recommend a softtop such as the catch surf heritage as a first noserider or would a PU or epoxy board be better?

That Catch Surf 8'6" noserider looks fun, but I can't answer which board made out of what material will be "better". A good surfer can surf any board well. If you can't cross-step well, no board, not even a purpose built "noserider" will help you noseride.

I haver 7ft to 8ft funboards, don't cross step any of them, not big enough, but I do get a bunch of 1ft waves
