Traction pad on a softie?

Hey guys, first time posting.

Bought a new board for knocking around through the summer. I got myself a Mason Ho softech twin. Thing looks grouse and hopefully will do great in places I don't want to go with my fibreglass boards. I want to put a traction pad on it because it has a slick deck and they just feel nicer to me when doing turns and whatnot. The board has exposed fin plugs and I was wondering how to go about this with putting a pad on?

Lilsoftie, bit of a challenge, I guess and it is a guess , you would need to ensure your fins are screwed tight and there is no indent air pocket over the screw heads. Since the soft deck flexes under each foot movement you would need to have no bubbles and that the pads glue have full adhesion and cure time!

1) get a piece of paper and mark / circle where the plug tops are.
2) cut out those marks / circles
3) flip over the traction pads and place the template over it ( remember the alignment of left and tight )
4) draw the outline on to the back side of the pad
5) cut out the lines with a good scissors or razor blade.
6) alcohol wipe down the deck area before laying down the pad.
( when pulling the backing paper off a little at a time, let the sponge spring back to shape, don't lay it down stretched out )

All my sponge boards have traction pads except my 4 foot and 5 foot.

So the way I ended up going about it was to mark out my traction pad on the board, lightly of course. Then push down on the pad to indent the plugs into the paper on the back. Then I traced the indentation with a permanent marker and cut them out. When I put the pad on I was able to screw the plugs in through the holes and it's worked a treat!
