Heeellllp!! Buying a short board

Postby little waves » Tue Aug 30, 2005 1:01 pm

Ok...i have a chance to get a super deal on a short board. as you know if you've read my other posts, pretty much the only other board i have ridden is my 7'9" bic.

the board i am looking at is a fox surfboard (anyone know that brand/shaper?) and is 6'3" and 20" wide. i am hoping it is not to short though.

last weekend i got the chance to ride someone's 6'4" and was impressed that i could catch waves on it, even though they were mushy crap waves.

advice?
oh yeah, i am 5'3" and about 130 lbs.

It sounds like it would be OK for you. It does depend how thick it is though. Don't go for anything under about 2 1/2.

Also, what kind of waves are you riding? If you generally get out is small mush, then it may not work so well.

Cheers

im not sure the thickness (the guy doesn't know much about boards, and actually went to go measure it). i would guess it is thick though from the pictures, has the wide nose and square-ish tail shape.

the guy is really selling this at a steal, i may get it and sell it even if it turns out not working for me. dont think i can pass on it though, lol. to good.
