Buying my first board?

Hey, I hope i've posted this is the right place!
I'm looking to buy my first board and I think I've done enough research and narrowed it down but i'm hoping to get some advice before I take the plunge!
I've had a couple of lessons and hired a board for about 20 hours, I'm 5'4 and roughly 65kg, i live in Staffordshire so my beach trips are limited to 3-4 times a year and the odd weekend in wales. I've just come back from Newquay where I hired a sunset and also Bic improver boards (I'm guessing the difference is it's just not foam top?) I found this board so much better, I'm standing up 8 out of 10 attempts and can turn a little now rather than hanging on and hoping for the best like i was a couple of trips ago.

Am I right in thinking a 7.2 or 7.6 would be suitable? I'm looking to spend around £400, I've heard good things about the Torq boards (I also like the colours haha) Here's 2 I've been looking at, are these suitable? Do they have enough volume for me?

Thank you for any help!

Three feet over your head board until your can get your paddle technique and strength up.
Two feet over your head board, when you can already do turn ups and turn downs with the previous three feet over your head board.

What size board were you renting ?

Ok so I should go for a 8 rather than the 7.2 or 7.6, I'm not 100% sure but I think they said it was 7.6 the last one I rented

Hi, I got the 8ft Torq mini long a year ago, ( I'd had a 8ft foamy and then rented a 7 9 Bic which I really liked) and chopped it in a couple of weeks ago, I just couldn't get on with that V contour that runs the length of the underside, makes it seem 'tippy' side to side, my new 7 10 Cross is so much more stable and learner friendly like the Bic is in my opinion.
