Second surfboard for intermediate length and volume

Heyy
I surfing for two years now
I surfed on 7 foam surfboard
I feel that I learned all the basics and i want move to the next level
My high is 6
My weight 190 lbs
I surf on beach break
Wave high 3 to 5 feet
I have a few options
1. Minimal 6.8 45L / I thinking that I outgrowth this board pretty quick
2. Minimal 6.8 40L
3. Shortboard 6 38L / i want this board for the maneuvers but i sure that he's big enough

I dont have option to take surfboard for test
what do you say

Number 1....you will have your hands full with that. That board is PLENTY maneuverable enough.

None of the three. I would look for a 7’2” to 7’6” Hard board. Sponge boards are overly thick and wide and forgiving. They give you a false sense of confidence that you’ll be able to catch waves.

What are the advantages of a hard board over a foam/soft board?
