Hi guys!

Do you think it would be worth to buy a second hand mini malibu if I went surfing once or twice a week?
I know it´s a good beginners board but can I also use it when I have got more experience?
How much will it cost?

Thanks!!

:D

Yep i would go for a minimal.
The bic ones arent as bad as people would have you believe, just cos they arent hand made doesnt mean they are no good.
They might not have the cool factor but you will look a proper dork if you ding your nice custom off someones else's bic and put a big dent in it (this isnt as unlikely as you may think whilst you are learning)
They are also ideal for the small choppy surf we get most often in england. IMO.

if your lucky you will find a second hand one for £100-120 but they usually sell quick, so get straight in there.

cheers, bic-lover

ps, hi all, i havent posted on here for months, nice to see you all.

As I've posted many times on here - Mini Mal does not necessarily equal beginner board!

I surfed a 6'6 thruster for years and hardly progressed at all. I then got my Mini-Mal and now rip far better than I ever did on the shortboard.

I would buy one- definitely - every quiver should have one for smaller days anyway!!

BUT, as driftwood says 'good quality 2nd hand mini-mals disappear quickly' they are like the proverbial Rocking horse poo! (Certainly in the UK anyway)

Get one and get out there!!
