Back to surfing... Is this board good?

I haven't surfed in about a year and a half, but now that I have plenty of free time during summer I want to go back at it. I used to surf a 7'2" surftop, but now I was thinking of buying this 7'6" nectar board (
http://imgur.com/a/J4MjS) to try to re learn and be able to catch some waves while doing so. What do you guys think? Thanks in advace

Do you mean
a soft top? Anyway if you were using the 7'2" board well then the 7'6" should be a good choice but if you were struggling with the 7'2" board then maybe an even bigger board. You should always state your age/height/weight/fitness level/surfing level to help those trying to help you.

No, because that 7'6" is a Fun-Gun or Big Guy short board. The nose is probably way more narrow than the nose of the sponge 7'2". Length has increase but the area/volume of the nose has decreased. Maybe good if you were pulling in to 4 foot beach breaks before.

If learning or "re-learning" is your focus, this is not the board for you for all the reasons mentioned. Length notwithstanding, that board will be unstable, likely harder to paddle than the softie you rode before (lower volume, more rocker) and really won't surf well until you get to at least head high and get some power behind it. 7'6" mini mal would be the better play, or even 8' since I'm assuming that if your last board was a softie, you have not yet owned a "hard" board with real fins....plenty to be learned and will be more easily done on a more beginner friendly shape.
