Searching for a Beginner Board

Recently, I have started to surf and love it! I would like to purchase my own board and I am looking into some foam boards. I am around 110 lbs, 5' 6", female, and will be surfing waves at the highest of 5 feet. What size board would be the best and how long should I stay on a foam board before I can transition to a different one? Also, what is the price for the average foam board and how can I tell if it is a good board? Thank you so much for all of the help! It is very much appreciated! :D :D

Go cheap, the costo boards are only $100, you can't go wrong there.

This. Stay on it until it breaks (very unlikely) or you start to turn to the face of the wave and ride it... somewhere between 5-20 sessions. I used my costco foamie for approx. 15 sessions.

If you can find a 7'9" Bic minimal, even 2nd hand, should be good for you for a few years, you won't outgrow it as fast as a foamie. They're heavy though!
