another cry of help looking for a board.

i just got into surfing a month ago, and i have surfed around 2 hours a day for most of this month. I have been on a 8 foot foamie and i want to upgrade to something shorter. I went into my local board shop and they recommended a 6.8 funboard, i found a couple but they were out of my price range. But i did find a 6.4 fish, i was wondering if that was a good size or is it too big for a fish? or should i go longer? by the way i way 54 kg (120 pounds) and i am 1.8 meters tall ( 5.8 feet) Any suggestions would be great, i also live in the san diego area. Thanks
