Hi, I'm trying to do the jump to the shortboard this year I have been surfing with a 7.0, I bought a 6.3 Aloha Bean in CR and I have been using it here(Barcelona, where the waves usually are powerless and really step) since december, the main problem i find is that unless there is a good day of waves 1.5m up the board is braking a lot, and I'm having lots of problems doing the pop up. A lot of fellow surfers from here recommended me buying a new shortboard that help me improve since they say the Bean is for bigger waves( It really gets fast with big waves).
They're suggesting https://www.fullcas.com/surfboards/ the fish RF3 at 6.0 to 6.1 .
I'm 6.1 feet tall and around 83-90kg, I train almost 3 to 4 days a week paddling in the sea and running and I have been profesional in other sports(now I'm not my best fit but still good).
I want a shortboard that helps me to improve since is hard here in bcn(planning to go to morroco soon). My feelings with the Bean is that the board controls me a lot(maybe is too big? in the site suggest to grab one some inches shorter than normal), and when using shorter boards from friends, I feel I control better the board specialy in the take off.
I wanna know if you think that there is a big difference between the RF3 and my Bean.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the block of text.
