Hey guys I've been surfing for about 5 months and can somewhat work the face on an 8ft CBC foam board. I was wondering how difficult a transition to a 7'3 epoxy 7s super fish would me from the foam board. I'm 6'1, 175 pounds and am pretty athletic. Thanks so much for any suggestion!!!

The transition will be challenging, the board will feel skittish and hyper-responsive but it is in the weight range for you the epoxy will give more float but it will not be in the same category of float as the foamie!
I'd see if there are any surf shops near where you surf that demo/ give you a trial of the 7S range or maybe hire one for a couple of surfs.
have fun!

I word of warning, the 7S fish boards are supposed to be ridden shorter then a normal board. They are not hyper responsive at all I went bigger with mine and its like trying to turn a log, I read a review where someone had the same problem.
They have an insane amount of float with the stepped deck but still retain that high performance rail profile, but if you go to big you might as well as bought a longboard.
As Jaffa says, try to go and rent one, try multiple sizes and see which feels right. They are extremely easy boards to ride as long as they dont have to much float... if they do they get even harder to paddle.

Some of the newer 7S models are taking out the step deck!
Nice the see you around Peazz, I found the the 7S quite capable of turning so there may be a difference for beginners as Peazz was then. Shorter in the normal range could be an answer.
It really is how is a beginner to know , so much hype.
Test Ride

Thanks Jaff, Things are picking up a bit atm so I got time to kick back a little more. I am leaving my 7S in HK for return visits, I will have to try and get a test on one of the new models down in Newquay
