Portugal wild water board advice

Fairy fit person
Have been surfing 7'6 malibu with 52 volume for 4 months
I feel pretty confident on the board
The place I surf has at least shoulder high waves and the water tends to be wild.
I believe that I am spending WAY to much energy and time paddling out with my malibu.
I don't really care to change boards but i believe i need a board to duck dive with.
I would like to hear some words of wisdom
