New surfer need help with a board?

Postby kitkat » Sat Jan 11, 2014 9:14 pm

Hi i just started surfing and I wanted to get a surfboard. I was told you have to get a certain size and shape and all that, but i know nothing about what to get or what brands are good. I maybe wanted to buy something used if i can find one. Not really interested in getting a foam board.
I am 4'11 and my weight is 108. Thanks everyone!!

Hi kitkat. Sent you a message. Bottom line, at 108lbs you could probably surf an ironing board LOL

As promised Kitkat here is a link to a series of boards that give a weight to board size ratio and ar pretty tough and the step beyond a foamie, a good basic beginners board in shapes.
You could use these boards as a mind template as you look at other boards too
