Sorry guys, another new surfer which board thread. I'm sure you guys are bored of these. But, I grew up in the east, and I have longboarded before. I could get up fine, and ride fine. I have lived in the mountains of Utah for the last couple years, and I am now about to move to California. I would really like to pick up surfing, specifically shortboarding. All of my friends who surf think I will be able to pick it up super quick because of how quickly I have picked up every other boardsport, and I have had experience longboarding. I am 6'4"-6'5", and I weigh around 180 pounds. What would be a good board for me to try and start shortboarding with? I was looking at the CI T-low, and the CI New Flyer, but I really didn't know. Any advice? I appreciate any help.

Since you are doing well with a longboard you will only need a few more practice for the shortboard, well shortboard are a little bit harder to control than long board that's why longboards are often recommended for beginners this is one of the things I learned in Malibu surfing
