Hey guys so sorry to put you all through this question yet again, but I'm a 41 yr old male who has recently moved to Newquay Cornwall and am so jealous of those surfers that I am dying to give it a crack, so which board would you recommend, I'm 5 10, and weigh 15.6st?

Get a longboard. Best bet. Hire a foamy for a few sessions though like I did/doing. Hire some different longboards to see what works, where you are you'll find lots of hire places. Check surf shops for second hand & check the learners forum as that is where I got the above advice recently

Hey Andy, I agree totally with lorez...length and width is your friend when starting out. So heed his advice and head to the local surf shops, hire a few different boards then look for a second hand one to purchase. Surfing will change your life. Keep us updated on your progress.

Mini mals can be loads of fun...just make sure you have enough float in the board if you decide to go that root.
