...and i CAN NOT decide for my life whether to get a longboard or a funboard? i've heard funboards aren't too bad of an idea to start off on. also what dimensions my board should be.

i went surfing for the first time a month ago and had a BLAST. i rented the board and wetsuit though. it was a 7'8" longboard, and i stood up a few times for a few seconds after getting my ass kicked for an hour or two.

i'm a 5'5.5" girl, 135 pounds, know how to snowboard and am very athletic.

i plan on surfing a lot (well as much as i can everytime i come home on break from school) and hopefully transitioning to a shortboard.

please help! i think i've quite possibly looked up every webpage on the internet about buying new surfboards, but still can't decide.

Go for the funboard. If your snowboarding allready, its not going to be that hard of a transfer than from someone who just sat on their ass and watched tv their whole life. Don't get anything longer than 7', but if your waves are small and crappy most of the time, like just windchop you might want to just go for like an 8' longboard. You'll have more fun, but if you live somewhere or like will be surfing somewhere like in california don't get anything longer than a seven foot funboard. You will have lots of fun on it once you get your paddle strength up (because you probally should allready have everything else if your a snowboarder) you can probally move down to a shortboard soon after. And if your not all that pressed for money, keep your funboard for the smaller, blown out days. Probally the hardest part will to be the turning, where as on a snowbard you dig a rail, but its easy to get. Where are you going to school?
