Hybrid fish for a Learner?

Hi, so i have been surfing my 9'2 long board for a little while now, and just recently tried a friends 7'1 fun board, the waves were small, like 2 foot, but i had a blast, it felt allot more responsive than my good old log. And this made me consider a new, shorter board.
So after reading post after post of advice i have found a board that i think will work.
It is a hybrid fish board that is 6'8" long, 20 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" thick.(it is a thruster setup.) Or i can get one that is 6'10" or 7'. I am 5'8" weigh 110 pounds 15 years old. I am a very strong paddler because i have bodyboarded for years. The board can be found here http://www.barronsurfboards.co.nz/shop/surfboard/fush-standard-6-8.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Baron 6'8"would be fine, that shape and similar is my all round good time board it would cover a good range of surf sizes and conditions and the baron boards have a good reputation.

Go for it Russell yourself down and get one, it will be different but at 15 you'll adapt quickly and it will be a lot more responsive.
Tell us how you go! Slip across to Ahipara and Shpwrecks.

I've said it before, but the Puffa Fush is a great name for a NZ board. :D
