Buying a new surfboard and wetsuit in Capetown

Hey
I am a beginner surfer. I have been surfing for only about 3 weeks, but i am able to stand up and manuever (only a tiny bit ) a NSP 6.8' funboard, on small waves. I have been renting from a place near the beach. I am 12 years old (girl), and my mom decided it would be cheaper to buy a board than rent one now, since we have been going atleast twice a week. She also believes i will grow out of the funboard im riding on now soon, so she wants to buy only a second hand board . Is this true? Will I want a shorter board soon? And if so , how short. If we do buy a second hand board, Im worried it wont feel right and i will stop riding because the board is uncomfortable. Is there any way to make sure I get a similar board? I dont know the exact dimensions of the one im renting, but it is definately 6.8'. i am about 50 kgs and im maybe 165 cm tall.
can anybody give me any advice where to get the cheapest second hand boards? Im in Cape Town, South Africa. Ive tried gumtree and craigslist. I also want to get a wetsuit, but I have no idea what size. Please advise.
So can anyone give me advice on these two things:
how can i make sure i will be comfortable with the board i buy
what size wetsuit will fit me
Thank you so muchh.
