New Board Question

Hi,
I started surfing at a 5 day camp exactly 1 year ago and we used 8 foot Doyle foam surfboards. I loved it and bought a 6 foot 3 shortboard for $120 in great shape. I bought a surfboard because I am 12 years old and I thought I was the next Kelly Slater and could ride a shortboard after 5 days of surfing.
I took it out as many times as I could and I have succesfully popped up 1 whopping time!
I popped up and was like wow this is slow and it was too wobbly for me to turn so I sank. I took the camp once again this year on the same Doyle surfboards and I can catch almost any wave I paddle for and hold a line. I think I really benefit from the rocker on the Doyle board. I am looking for a new board just for more rolling waves and I am thinking of like a 9 foot longboard or 7'3 BIC but I dont know. Maybe a 7 foot funboard. I would like to be able to get on my shortboard as well and have a little less of a learning curve. Im not exactly sure so any help is appreciated. By the way I surf mostly beach breaks and I am 5'6 and 115 pounds. I'd like to surf California Street if you have heard of it.
