Surfing Waves

hi all im after some advice,

I'm slightly more of a beginner as i can stand up easily on white water and some ride green waves, and im thinking on going a road trip this year round the surf spots of britain and france in my van and was thinking of buying a borad instead of finding shops and hiring them, just tafter something cheep as probably wont use it much after wards, im 13 stone, any adviuce would be appreciatted,
