hi. i'm wanting to buy a board but i am unsure of what sort would suit me. i'm an about 6'1. 80kg(dont no how many lbs it is. think about 160-170) i play australian rules football and am reasonably fit. i've had a lesson a while back and i can stand up but not for to long. i'm going away at christmas for 2 weeks and we are looking to buy a holiday house at the beach. my mates have beach houses so i think i will get pleanty of use out of it but i dont want to out grow to soon. what sort of board would you recomend.

well if you looking for going for a shortboard... i would suggest a fish around 6'8-6'10". a fish has more volume so you can paddle into wave easier and surf more up on the waves. it will take some getting use to since you only had one lesson. i would first suggest renting a softtop or what ever type of board you used in your lesson and surfing for 1 week witht that then buying a shortboard.

if your looking to buy a longboard i would seggust a 9' board but im no expert in longboards so..... anyone have an opinion on longbaords?
